On the 18th of September Don Baird had a follow up meeting with Cassandra Carmichael, the Director of the Eco-Justice Program for the National Council of Churches in the USA (NCCC) to discuss the launch strategy for the NCCC adoption of the ASP National Schools Recycling Program. The ASP executive staff is truly excited about this wonderful opportunity to partner with NCCC’s 100,000 churches covering over 35 different denominations and over 40 million parishioners nationwide. Big thanks to both Mr. Bob Edgar, the General Secretary and Cassandra Carmichael for taking the time to look at this opportunity in both New York and Washington, DC, that ultimately resulted in this exciting co-venture partnership.

Los Angeles, CA. – The College Partnership, Inc. (CPI, OTC: CGPA) and the America’s Schools Program, Inc. (ASP) enthusiastically renewed their licensing and marketing partnership. The renewable two-year Agreement positions CPI as the exclusive “Official College Planning Company of America’s Schools”. The National Council of La Raza (NCLR) was founded in 1968 and serves the needs of over 40 million plus in the Hispanic community, across the United States. NCLR also has over 300 charter schools that have been established across the country.

The National Council of La Raza (NCLR) – is the largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States – works to improve opportunities for Hispanic Americans. While in Washington, DC during the week of the 18th of September Don Baird had an opportunity to visit with Maryann Lesso, the Director of Membership Services for the DC Chamber of Commerce. As a result of that meeting Maryanne gained approval from the executive board to join the ASP National Schools Recycling Program to financially support the DC Chamber “Educational Foundation” and the DC area K-12 schools. The DC Chamber is uniquely situated to take advantage of all the businesses in the DC area as revenue generators, for both the DC Chamber and the DC area schools.

Over the past 3 months, the following Chambers of Commerce have joined as co-venture partners: Mercer, Baxley, Monroeville, Round Lake, Fostoria, Tuskegee, Windsor, Franklin County, Fort Davis, Dundee, Shattuck, Lake Gaston, North Allegheny, Sacramento Hispanic Chamber, Boulder City, and the DC Chamber.

In a first of its kind partnership, Nevada State Bank and Wells Fargo Bank have adopted the ASP-Nevada Schools Recycling Program in Northern Nevada to help fund the Reno Gazette Journal Newspaper’s “Literacy in Educational Program” and northern Nevada schools. Under this three-way partnership ASP will be providing 50% of all recycling dollars generated by the retail branch locations in the North. All three partners have agreed to participate in a northern Nevada media campaign, that will have the newspapers publisher and each of the two bank CEO’s in a number of radio and television commercials that will be used to alert the general public to drop-off their used cell-phones and printer cartridges at any retail/branch location in Northern Nevada.

Jim and Kaye Conley,met with Don Baird on Capital Hill in Washington DC, at an awards dinner hosted by Ann Archer, who served as master of ceremonies for the awards dinner event in support of Human Rights and their organization - the International Foundation for Human Rights. The three Aussies enjoyed the opportunity to support this note worthy cause and those who are making a difference on human rights around the world. The Earth Organization continues to sign businesses, office buildings and retail locations as recycling partners to benefit the environment and our nation’s K-12 schools. Over the past several months close to 100 organizations have signed as recycling co-venture partnership under the Earth Organization. At a meeting at the offices of the Newspaper Association of America in Vienna Virginia, Don Baird of ASP met with Jim Abbott and Sandy Woodcock. Don was excited to share the news that the Reno Gazette Journal Newspaper in cooperation with Wells Fargo Bank and Nevada State Bank have set the foundation for a retail revenue generating recycling collection program, that can be easily duplicated in any state and or city to help fund individual newspaper “Readers in Education/Literacy Program’s across the country, through sponsoring banks and or retail locations across the country.
